Yeah, it is kinda cute. They made a whole series of miniature lookalikes for film; I think the regular Minox 9.5mm stuff. There's a mini-digi-Rollei TLR too... But they all use fixed focus lenses and are very simple, with most of the traditonal controls not functional. Could be a fun curiosity and conversation piece.

A friend of mine has one - picture quality is very bad, kinda like one of those low-res webcams (actually, I think that's what's inside); almost noc controls whatsoever; also, only looks good from the front - from the back it's the 'Humpback of Solms' - has a big hump to fit all the technology...

Being the 'blad geek that I am (I've got the shirt, poster, key ring, tie pin, etc), I _almost_ bought the Minox Hasselblad. Only thing that stopped/disappointed me was it wasn't a waist-level SLR.

Although foolishly I did buy one of those cute Pentax 110 SLR with three lenses.

I have one on the shelf behind me right now, ready to go out and shoot, loaded with Kodacolor Gold 400 and wearing a 20-40 zoom. But what would I shoot with it that wouldn't be better shot with something larger? So it sits, looking cute! ;)

Doug-

I bought mine thinking proper B&W film was availible in 110 format... opps.

I've only ran one roll of film through it, got the pictures back and went "humpf!". I've tried to sell it, no wants it and it's too big to become a novelity key ring. So it sits between the Polaroid Model 95 and the album of autochromes looking 'cute'.

I too own one of those Pentax 110 slrs, which sits on a shelf looking cute. Somehow I thought I'd use it more. I even have a couple of dozen rolls of 110 in the fridge. Oh, well, at least I didn't go crazy and get the whole system. (flash, winder, lenses, t-shirt, coffee mug, tote bag, ect.)

Good thing I have no cash laying around at the moment since for some reason I'm suddenly strongly tempted to try submini photography... as if I don't have enough cameras laying around the place as it is :)

If it was a Minox 8x11, my hand would already be reaching for my wallet...
