FED 2 + Industrar 61 = Crazy Delicious!

i got my fed 2 from fedka.com the other day. my 1st russian and i couldn't be more impressed! of course one pays a little more from yuri, but getting a nice working camera in 2 days more than compensates.

the fed 2(e) was a much nicer feeling camera than i anticipated. fairly light but solid. the industrar lens is mint and the zebra stripes are dead sexy!

today was a beautiful day to bust through a roll of kodak 400cn. the pics turned out NICE! i had read the industar 61 is incredibly sharp, and it was as advertised. it did flare up a few times, but a hood should fix that.

anyway- have a look. the first shot is of my better half, wide open, 2.8@1/30. the tree exploits the sharpness of the lens.

yep, me and this new toy are gonna make a good team!! :)

Those are nice shots indeed. It appears that your "better half" is no stranger to posing for you - it looks like she has done this before! I really like the personality of the first shot especially.

i know! i like 'em sharp, but that is harsh. nice to know i have that potential, though.

actually i have to do a little arm twisting. i've only recently got the photography bug so i haven't pestered her too much yet. i'm sure she will be less and less cooperative as time goes on. :rolleyes:

in pic 2 she is browsing her new cookbook i surprised her with along with the roses i gave her at the same time. soon after that i told her about the fed 2 about to show up on the doorstep. she didn't even bat an eye! :p yep, all is well.

great shots! i just love the fed2 with industar LD/ 61. this is my first rangefinder ever. got it on ebay 2 years back for only US$11. shipping to the philippines cost me US$15...hehehehehe.

Bravo. Good call, comrade. Keeps peace on the homefront. FSUs are fairly inexpensive, but by the time I get through bribing the wife, I've probably got $300 - $400 in each unit... :rolleyes: Still, I get to sleep inside!
