View Full Version : SBOOI finder vs VC 50mm finder
Hi there,
I'm in the market for a 50mm. My choice are either a Leitz SBOOI or a new VC 50mm finder. Which one is best ?? Does someone have experience with both ??
Thanks for your help !

The Leica finder has slightly better eye relief if you wear glasses. Apart from that, either one will do the job.

I see no difference in the 75mm CV and SOOBI except field size.
The frames were tipped in the first CV and I had to return it. So balance that against interior dirst on the SOOBI.
Fred, I am very happy with the CV 50mm finder. For $65 brand new (NOS) in Photovillage, unbeatable.
$65 !! Are they still available there ?
I got a leitz 1:1 a couple weeks ago, works wonderfully but taking off my glasses does really make a difference, with them on I have more trouble, at least it doesn't scratch them.
The finder is clear but it has some separation (in fact I got it by 'mistake', if such a thing is possible with auctions) so if a nice CV eventually appears I'd be getting that one in the long term.
Anyway, it really MAKES a difference to shoot a 50mm with this one on a camera with a dim finder.
Thanks Ray ! I checked it a while ago. If shipping prices are reasonable I may be getting one from him. So if I finally get it and somebody's interested in a cheap useable SBOOI but with some separation in the front glass, you know, drop me a note...
Just got me one ... Thanks for the HU ... :D
