I'm sure some here have seen this and I'm sure some here know of Lester from Pnet and nelsonphoto, but if you haven't this is a gallery worth looking into. (Florence Italy, 1950's, Leica IIf, 50 summitar) Stunning work.

wow! love the tone and front to back as sharp as the 50's get! great stuff.

That is some very nice work. Well printed and seen. Lots of humor in some of the photographs as well.

Wow! These are marvelous. They evoke that time and place very well. Some are so artfully composed that they seem set up, but since the others are clearly candid it tells me the photographer had a keen eye AND a quick trigger finger.

And imagine, it was all done without AF, a motor drive, multisegmented matrix metering or megapixels!

Great work there. I recently traded Les an Elmar 90/4 LTM for a really nice QL17 GIII with case, flash and lens shade. I didn't realize until just now it was the same Les... He has a IIIf again and seems to be enjoying it.

Les is a good friend. I met him on Photo-net seeral years ago and helped him repair a Kiev-4a and Fed-2. He invited me over to his house for Sunday dinner and sent me home with a carry-on bag of working cameras.

Great stuff, he took these wonderful photos when those places still had their own character. I envy him twice :bang:

Les is a wonderful gentleman. I used one of his photos for an exhibition accompanied by his recollections of witnessing one of the Trinity Atom bomb tests; absolutely fascinating. And his photos are wonderful.
