Thought we could try a pic of the week thread. Here is my submission. Any others?
I like the idea.... I know Pnet usually has folks that do a thread on Sunday evening asking for each person's pic of the week.. it's kind of neat :)

Interesting image. I like the toning, not something Ive done much of.

How about we say Wednesday is the day each week.
Ok, here's mine for this Wednesday. Lately I've been fascinated with late night urban scenes, like when very few people are out but the lights are there.

Very warm shot despite the lack of people ... what was the film?
Fuji 400, exposed as if it were 800. QL17 GIII. Minimal photoshopping. Those incandescent twinlamps really add a warm cast to it.

Pic of the week? This one isn't terribly special, but then again, maybe it is. I shot some stills for a friend's short film on Saturday and one of the actor's kids ran in during a break and jumped up onto the couch. I dunno, I just hope that some day if I ever settle down and have kids, it's like this.

My picture of the week -although I wasn't using my bessa so it's Pentax 6x7 with 105 2.4 shot at 1/125 @ f4 -they said it couldn't be done with the '6x7 and they may well be right. I commend the bokeh of this lens to you and remind you that complete pentax 6x7's can be had for little more than a second hand 50mm 'cron....

Daniel, I like them both, #2 makes me think about the França train station in Barcelona.
That said, I really like #1 for various reasons. First is the general sense of intimacy of that shot, makes me think on a warm evening coffee at home while it's cold and rainy outside. I also like how you managed to use the Moskva in a field where it's not probably the best choice of a camera (close up portrait). I love the light fall off in the corners and that you included the photos in the fridge door, which connect directly with your main subject.

This week I submit two images taken with a 6x9 folder, the camera is called a "Bower-X" (aka. Adox sport IIIa rouge), it's a beautiful red folder with a Schneider Radionar 105/4.5, it's very small and pocketable. The weather has been piss poor this week so these are inside test shots, can't wait for better weather to test it a bit more. This is a 620 film camera, believe it or not I was able to "modify" some rolls of 120 to fit and it appears to work pretty good.

Nice, Todd! I too like the Coke machine shot. Reminds me of a 5˘ Coke machine at the shooting range at Lackland AFB in 1962; even then a nickel bottle of Coke was startling. How about a shot of the pretty red camera itself? Looking forward to more from it too.

Wow Raid,
Thats a big photo. Great color contrast too!
Grifon, I'd like to see your first one cropped to about head & shoulders; very sweet and soft...
Raid, nice shot, love the composition but prefer a smaller size I can see on my little 20" screen!

Thanks Rick. Did you mean to say that the size of the scanned image is too large for posting it here?
Bravo !! It's a pleasure to watch it !.
Herzlichen Dank, Betram .... We have plenty of sun in Florida, unlike Ulm where the clouds seem to stay forever.
Did you mean to say that the size of the scanned image is too large for posting it here? That's my thought, yes... scale it to something less than 800 pixels on the long side, which is the size limit in the Gallery too. :)
Late this week.
Lousy exposure (all my fault) of good looking people I met while working, on Ektachrome 400, 50/3.5 Elmar.
Thanks Daniel for the inspiration and the nice words. Great additions everybody !

I got back 3 rolls of tri-x, a roll of agfa ultra and a roll of mf yesterday...a few are in my gallery, more are on Flickr but I thought I'd share one or two here.
Both Tri-x in a GSN.
This week, all Summarit with TriX at (purportedly) 3200. Not sure if they really pushed it 3 stops-

Taffer, that's beautiful-what film?
Here's mine for this week, and although it's on the same theme as my last few posts, this one is quite fresh, the negative is barely dry, which is a story in itself (Walgreens, HWGA) which I'll post separately.
I was hoping to capture the eerie, almost funereal quality of the last gasp of this dying casino in this shot. You really have to be there. I assume they are leaving some of the lights on for NYE. It actually closed November 17.

Hey thanks all ! :) Film was the cheap bulk roll that came with my loader, Jessops PAN 400S, even though those tones come from the Tritoning method Kris taught me :D

I'm cheating this week, it's <glups> digital...
Here's yet another one in this series, the carousel ponies on the side of the Boardwalk Casino, which closed forever just yesterday.
Let's have a trivia contest on this one ... Multiple guess, what was this one taken with?
A. Agfa/Walgreens 200
B. Fuji 200
C. Kodak 200
D. None of the above, it's digital.
Anybody care to try? :)
Agfa/Walgreens 200 ;)
May I ask why you say that?

>May I ask why you say that?
Didn't you get yourself quite some amount of that film recently ? :)
Uh, yes, I did, actually, both before and after I took this trip.
Ok, gang, this is embarrassing. {blush}
I would have *sworn* I shot that on Agfa/WG 200, but I did shoot both Fuji and WG/Agfa (only those I think) on that trip. Maybe those of you who know the films better can help me out.
I was about to post that it was the WG/Agfa, but I thought I better check for sure, so I just looked at the negative.
It doesn't say Fuji on it, and I know that some/all/most Fuji color film says that, plus, some/most/all Fuji has a red and green color stripe on the side opposite the bar code, or whatever that is.
Well, the negative for this shot has no red/green stripe and definitely doesn't say Fuji (or Agfa or Kodak or whatever) on it, it also has red triangles right over the bar code.
I was just about to post that it was WG/Agfa 200 but I noticed this on the film: "ISO 400/27 {degree sign} N" and some other code of "8045-10 28R" on it.
Does anybody know what film this is?
I **KNOW** I never bought any Walgreens/Agfa until this week, never ever. I had a mix of Fuji 200 and 400, plus a few rolls of the WG/Agfa what I thought was 200 on the trip. I'm very sure of this, since I took the rolls out of the canisters and put them in a clear baggie so I could hand them to the security people at the airport to hand inspect.
(Am I on drugs here?)
Is this maybe WG/Agfa 400 film mislabeled as 200?
I'm totally confused. Anybody know how to identify this kind of film?

Looks like the wheels of the train engine. Can't even guess on film type.
That's BW400CN Kodak, right?
1. What is it?
I'm pretty sure its Zorki... a 3? ... slow speed shutter mechanism?
BTW rami ~ nice shot. Good lighting on subject against darker background... pleasant expression ... on both. ;) ha!
A cafe shot from this week-yet another in the zone-focus, set on table series.

Uh-huh, the wheels and workings of a very nicely restored steam locomotive. I don't know why I'm totally fascinated by these things, but I am. :)

I'm going to call this mine, even though it was taken this summer. I'll start with some new ones next week. It isn't rangefinder either, unfortunately.
Nikon FE, 50/1.4 at likely f/16, 1/500th of a second. This is just from memory, though, so I could be wrong.
I really hope the person that I sold that lens to is happy with it and they're using it...it was one piece of glass that I will always regret selling, SLR-fit or no.
nice stuff Stephanie....I don't really have a very artistic eye, but I'll see what I can dig up...

LOL...let's see some of yours! :DOooops. Hey, dadsm3, this is the first time in a week I've checked back to this thread. But I think you've misunderstood me, and reading my "Perfect title for that shot." comment now, I can see why. My "foot-in-mouth" buzzer just went off.
Anyway, I can't find the shot now, and it's been over a week so I'm not even sure if it was yours, but maybe you [or the owner] deleted it. I'm writing because I'm hoping you didn't think I was insulting the photo. My "perfect title..." comment was made quite sincerely because, if I remember correctly, the photo was shot of a young man sitting next to a tree or statue or something with his head down and looked like he was having a really bad day... going through a tough trial and would rather the world just left him alone. I looked at the shot and the title and thought to myself, "Test (or troubled trial) #2 - Please Ignore [and tell the world to leave me alone] ... Hmmmm. I've been there young man; I can sure relate."
So I actually did think it was an interesting shot and a perfect title... no sarcasm intended. If you or others thought I was being a smart a--, I can see why and please forgive. I'm not careful sometimes in making sure my written words convey my thoughts. I hope the image will be reposted. IMHO, it conveyed quite a mood and message... especially with that [maybe unintentional] perfect title.

My wife's sister, shot last month but I didn't get round to the soup until the end of last week. Neopan 400 @ 640 in Diafine, f/2.8 and I think it might have been 1/30 but I can't remember.
Gotta love 6x6...
I haven't really shot much over the past couple weeks. I've mostly been scanning and printing, actually, a few rolls from back years ago.
Many of these I've never seen a good print of, and when viewed on the screen or in a nice large print, they look far more spectacular than they did on the B&W machine made prints that I had years ago.
Right now I'm going over several frames shot in the 59-60, Third to Lex area in Manhattan, which was a fave shopping area of mine way back when. Here's one of them ...

Hello,
It's my first photo here. It was in a bright room with some flash fill from a side mounted Vivitar 283 with a Stofen Omnibounce angled at 45 degrees. I believe it was at 1/60 and f/8. The camera was a Mamiya DSX 1000 and the lens a minty Hanimex 35mm-105mm zoom lens that I got from Mr. Coxon. The emulsion was Neopan 400 developed in 1:9 Aculux 2 for 18 3/4 minutes at 18 degrees Celsius with 10 seconds of agitation every minute.
Please advise.

clarence, what is the main subject in your photo? (I'm guessing it is the beautiful woman in a kimono.) The ladies on the left, probably helped her get dressed in it.
Is the main subject supported by, or is the composition strengthened by, the guy on the right turned away from us, listening to an mp3 player and looking at something in his hand? He is the strongest visual element in your photo due to his size, proximity to the front, and his light coloured clothes.
