Meter Issue on the Electro 35 GS?

About a week or so ago, the meter on my Electro 35 GS stopped working. The battery check did not give me a green light, so I replaced the battery. The battery check now indicates that the battery works. That is, when depressed, the little green light goes on; however, the meter reader on the camera's top faintly glows slow yellow at all apertures, in all lighting, at all film speeds. The left/right arrows in the viewfinder do not go on at all. Any advice on what to do?
