View Full Version : New Yashica Electro GSN owner
After lurking the RF forums for a while (specially the Yashica one), I decided to take the plunge and bought an Electro GSN from the 'bay' place. According to the seller, the camera is in near mint condition.
I'm supposed to receive the camera sometime next week. I can't wait.
Currently, I own a digital camera with full manual controls, which is ok for landscapes and static subjects.. Some of the things, I dislike about my present camera are its shutter lag, slow focus and the inability of taking pictures in low life. Hopefully, the Yashica will fix that.

congrats and welcome! the GSN has an excellent lens.. that was the first RF I bought, as well.. ah, the good old days!
I'm sure you're aware that it probably will need the light seals replaced.. and easy job.. and hopefully won't have the Pad 'o Death problem.. but even if, we'll get you taken care of

phquest,
the Electro 35 GSN is a fine camera. I've got a couple of users that I bought and had tuned up. I like them a lot. Very versatile, reasonably fast 1.7 lens. You are going to have some good times with your new camera. One of my series of shots at the Toronto CNE was done with that very camera.

Well, I'm not originally from the Rock......although, I've been living there since 91, so in a way, you could say I am.

Welcome phquest! You've made a wise choice in cameras ;) Seriously, I think you'll really appreciate the Yashica, I've a few of them myself!
