View Full Version : Mail order lab for 120 film -- reasonable prices
Can anyone recomment a good lab for mail order processing of 120mm film at reasonable prices. It is getting very expensive to shoot medium format these days when you are charged pro commercial prices for even machine prints.
Thanks

I use A&I mailers that I purchase from bhphoto.com. They do nice work, but they sure are slow! It usually takes 2-3 weeks.

Check out VERMONT COLOR (http://www.vermontcolor.com/) . I've used them for a while and been pretty happy with their work and their prices.

cool! this is better than the local place here. way better
They seem a little cheesy. Photo mugs? Their house brand of film?
I wonder how often they change their chemistry.
Check out BlueMoon Camera & Machine Works in the Saint John's district of Portland Oregon, 8417 N Lombard St., zip is 97203. Jake is great to work with and he still does optical printing (none of that develop, scan into digital and then print from the scan). They do color and B&W (B&W is hand developed). They also do Minox, 110, 16mm spy camera and large format film processing. If you are into old cameras, they have a real brick and mortar shop with tons of classic equipment (including a couple Canon rangefinder cameras and a Contax IIA). I was in there this Saturday and was blown away by all of the neat used equipment they have. I was admiring the photo gallery on the wall and was told that the pictures were taken with a Minox (the 8x10 enlargements were fantastic). You can email Jake at jake@bluemooncamera.com (I picked up one of their cards, hence all of the particulars above).

PS: I am not associated with them, just impressed to find a used camera shop with an aim at keeping film alive.

Capitol Hill 60 Minute Photo Express http://www.capitolhillphotoseattle.com (http://www.capitolhillphotoseattle.com/) is extremely good. They have 20 years of experience at Kodak's Sydney Australia Lab,, they are reasonably priced, and you don't have to wait too long for your negs, prints, and/or slides.
