View Full Version : T-3 Days until my X-PRO1 arrives...

I sold my Leica M8 in advance or receiving the X-Pro1 in it's place. Barring any unforeseen circumstances (like missing the postman) I should have my camera by the weekend. I've read all the reviews yadda yadda but what is the first thing I should take into account on my maiden voyage out with my X-Pro, which will most likely be attached to my Voigtlander Pancake 21mm f/4 with Fuji X-Mount Adapter... with the intention to shoot street photography???
Below is pretty much the last good photo I took with the M8. I'm suffering from a little bit of seller's remorse but I figure once I have the X-Pro I will know I made the correct decision.

I can relate. It seems like I tracked the progress of my XP1 with the shipper every hour until it arrived! I can't say how you'll like the camera's interaction with your Cosina lens, but the Fuji lenses are worth considering and the lineup is being expanded.
Hope it lives up to your expectations. For I have the impression that for manny his is T-3 months before it shows up in the classifieds ....

Who's Manny?
Seriously,
Good luck with your new purchase. I sure love mine and it won't be in the classified. I'm putting it in my will along with all my Leica gear going to my son.

I've had my XPro1 for about a month now. I can certainly say that you MUST give it time; time for all its 'quirks' to disclose themselves to you. Each time I think there's something squirrelly about it, I soon thereafter discover something I'd not understood. Once understood... genius design revealed! :) By the way, today I discovered that it's a no-no to wear polarized sunglasses while using the viewfinder or LCD. The polarization wipes out all the projected information on the screens, including the framelines; when viewing the electronic VF through polarized glasses, it turns solid black! And another thing... the framelines are not at all accurate. They're much smaller than the image capture area. I use the entire window as my guide instead.
Looks like your day is getting closer. Have fun with the camera :).

I got my camera... haven't had a chance to take it out on the town but you are definitely right about the frame lines. Thanks for your help!

I'm hoping that Fuji fixes the framelines in a future firmware upgrade.
