Hey, folks, quick price check: what's a good price on a pre-asph 50/1.4 Summilux e46 these days?
Thanks,
Ari

personally, I've been waiting for it to drop to around $2000, but it hasn't so far :D I know a titanium version was sold for $3000 locally... so somewhere in the middle, I guess.

but I sold my mint one for $1800 a few years ago, and have since seen them climb to near double (ouch!)

Mine was one with the scalloped focus ring, black, made in Germany, 4xx... s/n.

FWIW, there also seem to be some softness in price for Leica gears recently. I see lots of stuff sitting unsold, and yet the sellers still aren't willing to lower their prices.

I stopped looking after modifying my 50/1.4 Takumar :) Note that I do have a v2 'lux that I keep for build and size.

I wonder if we'll ever see the reverse of that?
As in, prices dropping so fast that people want to sell them as quick as possible and wish they had sold their 'lux two years ago when it was still worth something... and people waiting just a little longer to buy lenses, because you can get them for $200 less if you wait another two months.

As long as Leica keep increasing lens prices and producing M fitting digital cameras I can't see that happening.....but even crystal balls require a CLA from time to time so you never know :D

Do you definitely want a pre-asph? I just came across an asph at Newoldcamera (http://www.newoldcamera.com/Scheda.aspx?Codice=MU2328&Tipo=OB&Sql=+HIKNlAITN8UUbvAeTXmfwrd2l8IxoXjJFHEYQSdFn+3Y1 9Vs/E9i82Owe5OxgCjpvB17URNvX1y9Frg/gJmExfi/+uF8olRZklrphQCqxK553QmmdEwujexDzAlfk/DeXbKeTSgIPQtKEHHv1FzxCNF6cEhF0WIpCUmK5DeuPgCPlES5 r7SuWDhAKl4bkuA) for 2300€. More than USD 2000 but a good price for an asph.

They were hovering around $3,000 earlier this year.

Thanks, Roland, that's what it looks like to me too, $2500+.

I've been considering the v2, but I really like having close focus. I guess the combination of speed, size, IQ and close focus eludes me so far: CV 50/1.5, 50/2 M-Hex, 50/1.4 Nikkor-S, etc.
