I would have to say 50:50.

I switch depending on what I'm photographing. For instance exact framing can be more important than what's going on outside the frame. Sometimes I like to use the zoom in OVF to check focus. Bright light or dim light affects my choice too. I rarely do close-ups, but the EVF has significant advantages as the subject distance decreases.

I'm glad I can choose what's best for the situation at hand.

80:20 ovf to evf. I use the evf only when I need super close up stuff or precise framing.

To me this depends on what lens to use. >95% OVF if I use Fuji 35 1.4, actually OVF is the reason why I bought this lens. But >50% of the time I use adapted lenses. When use alt lenses it's 100% EVF.

Apparently alone here, I only use the EVF. The OVF is too inaccurate in terms of framing and I am very picky when it comes to exact composition. Also the EVF lets you see depth of field and pretty much how the outcome is going to be.

I suppose if I had done quick street photography type snaps I would have answered differently. Maybe.

My only big suprise with this camera is the fact that everyone seems to be using the OVF. So far I don't get it.

For me it´s close to 100% OVF, I´m just switching to LCD once in a while for close focus.

I love the OVF and it is my default preference. But I will admit to indulging frequently in toggling back and forth between OVF and EVF, just because. The toggle switch is so easy to use, and sometimes helps me maintain my interest which translates into seeing things in the scene that hadn't caught my attention. So for me, the ability to toggle itself transcends the value of either OVF or EVF alone.

For that matter, when using the OVF, I toggle between alternate magnifications for essentially the same reason.

The XP1 hybrid viewfinder thus offers a convenient way to modify the view in three ways.

P.S. I'm really hoping that the M mount adapter enables use of the OVF with M glass!

I'm using EVF almost all the time too. The Fuji was attractive to me for two main reasons. The first was because it felt like a camera, not a lens with a computer bolted onto the back. The second was because it didn't have any particular weakness (yes even AF is fine).

That said, I will spend some time with the OVF as I get more comfortable.

OVFs feel more like what RF users are used to... seeing through glass instead of looking at a tiny TV.

Beside what JS said, it is helpful to see outside the frame. Seeing outside the frame is usually described as an advantage in candid photography where you can anticipate where people are going, but seeing outside the frame is useful to evaluate different compositions with static subjects.

I also like the OVF better in bright daylight.

Switching between the OVF and EVF with the flick of a finger is most useful. Yesterday I was photographing a topiary scene where I felt the compositional geometry was critical. I used the OVF to focus and decide on the initial composition. I switched to the EVF to set the final composition before pressing the shutter.

Thanks for your thoughts. You've confirmed mine. I do find MF on more distant objects is a challenge for me, even with the magnifier in some situations.
