I know Buzzardkid is planning to go and so far it looks like I'm going too.
Anyone else?

Yes; I plan on going as well. I'm in need of a few odds and ends to get a Frankensteined Zorki up & running, and want to get some winter projects while I'm at it.

Derk

Sure I'm going!

It's gonna be great fun again and I have a list prepared:
FED NKVD clean top plate
Zenit Start cartridges
FED 100mm and 28mm finders (yeah right, as if I'll ever find those)
Scratched A36 filter to craft an Elmar lens hood from

I look forward to scouring the fair and meeting fellow RFF members!

A 'definite maybe' from me - I'll know nearer the time as it depends on the work schedule.

Michiel Fokkema
10-15-2011, 10:54
Of course. I go always. MIssed only one or two the last 20 years.

Hatch
10-15-2011, 13:17
Yep I'll be there.

I need some lens caps.

Won't be buying anything dear though, I'm trying to save up for any GAS attack's after I've bought the NEX 7.

I'm trying to rationalise my inventory by buying more gear.
So I can categorise it easier :D

Mr_Flibble
10-15-2011, 15:40
Not sure I'll be buying anything. The Ciney Militaria Fair is the week before so I'll probably be broke anyway

Anyone else planning to go to Fotografica Houten, NL in two weeks? PM me for contact data if you do and want to!

Mr_Flibble
11-01-2011, 01:06
Still in the works, need to ask my friend Kenny if he's interested in coming along again.

Ciney Militaria Fair didn't turn out to be as expensive as expected. So got some spending cash left over for this one ;)

HoodedOne

Maybe.

Would be my first time.
What can I expect, when I'm going ?

marduk
11-01-2011, 02:33
I think I am going. I'm in Amsterdam for work for the next 3 weeks. Not looking to buy some stuff though, just browse around :-P
But in case I am looking for something specific, am I better off arriving early (shortly after 11am)? :)

Pherdinand
11-01-2011, 02:56
hmm. Houten, as the Houten next to Utrecht? I might be goin!

HuubL
11-01-2011, 04:43
Maybe I'll go. Last time I was there must've been 5 years ago. Only thing I bought then was a Leica strap... :)
If I don't sell the black/nickel Leica II Elmar shortly, I won't buy more now :(

buzzardkid

BUMP

Fellow RFF-er Derk/Penny Lane and me will be there, my son Jonah will accompany us!

I'll wear the black hat in my avatar.

From the short 'wanted' list in the earlier post I can cross out the FED 100mm finder: I found one with a lens online! Anyone wanna buy the FED 100mm I already had? We can exchange at the Fair!

Penny Lane
11-07-2011, 13:12
Let's see... Changed the glow-plugs, battery checked, repaired the heating system (hey, it's november!), oil, coolant and hydraulics fluid are up to level... All I need is a full tank of diesel fuel and we should be all set to go :)

Wait, a shopping list, that would be a smart move!

Johan, is that FED 100mm calibrated to Leica standard or pre-war FED (as far as that's a standard)?

Derk

buzzardkid
11-07-2011, 13:23
Derk,

It's uncoupled and as a result any camera can handle it! There's an ad for it in the classifieds, I'll drop to EUR 60 for it! :D

MartinP

A 'definite maybe' from me - I'll know nearer the time as it depends on the work schedule.

Unfortunately I have to go back to the UK unexpectedly to visit a sick relative and will be away over next weekend - so I miss it again.

Indeed, no problem for the RF, but when your flange-to-film calibration is off by .3mm you might get a nice soft-focus portrait lens ;) So is it Leica's 28.8 or pre-war FED's 28.5ish mm? :)

Derk

Ron (Netherlands)
11-07-2011, 13:44
Yep I'll go. You'll recognize this old grey man wearing a M2 button rewind and may be some other stuff.....

or should I wear a DIY RFF button?

btw I have asked Penzes to come with me (he lives in The Hague) but 'unfortunately' he is in Venice that weekend

Ok then, having a beer at 16.00 (by then all the traders & vendors will start packing their stuff)?

That would be fun! Though I'll be driving so so much for drinking beer...

Mr_Flibble
11-08-2011, 22:37
Still going, I'll see about wearing my Red Leica or Al Kaplan "Silver is Better" shirt.

Unfortunately my spending cash has evaporated. So I'll be hunting for bargains.

I'll probably have a look around too. M3 with a collapsible Cron. In a Thinktank Retrospective 5.

Still not sure if I'll be able to make it.
Bit of a flu.

If I manage to get there , I'll wear a Red Point jacket :D.
And probably my M2 or Rolleiflex.

And a silly grin of course. :)

That won't help one bit. Last time in Doesburg I saw lot of those! :p

At least I'll have some small change to burn, just dumped a Parts Nikon F and 50/1.8 on a buyer. Didn't want to wait any longer for a decent price so somebody got lucky! :D

Hatch
11-10-2011, 11:46
Might strap on my Minolta XM then.
Not too much of those at Houten I'm sure.

Although one can hope.
The lightmeter on mine is broken.:(

So I'll probably be looking for a replacement AE or preferably an AES finder.

The non appearence of the NEX 7 gave me some financial room to shop a bit.
Might even try flogging my Rolleiflex as I don't seem to use it.
So might as well get some stuff I will use instead.

11-10-2011, 12:17
Still going :) will carry a blue Domke F6 and a chrome M3 with me.
It looks like going by public transport I need to take in Utrecht a train to Breda that makes a stop in Houten. Couldn't find any info about this postbus 611 which is mentioned on a poster.

Mr_Flibble
11-11-2011, 05:21
The postbox is just for mail contact, I guess for renting a stand or something.

The address is underneath it:Meidoornkade 24 in Houten.

Hmmm looks like I'll be carrying my FED and my Rolleicord

There. Tank full of diesel, cash on hand, address jotted down to tell the satnav where we're going... Can't think of anything else that might need doing right now. See you all tomorrow!

Picked up a decent Leica R7 with motordrive for almost nothing.

Mr_Flibble
11-13-2011, 08:51
Nice, way outta my league ;)

I came home with this.
http://www.flibweb.nl/flibweb/cpg143/albums/userpics/10001/brilliant%2Cjpg.jpg

Already had the shutter apart and cleaned. There was a dead moth in there o_O

Ron (Netherlands)
11-13-2011, 09:59
Luckily I could spend a little more than two years ago since I found a camera that was for long years at my 'wishlist'. This ones shutter is tip-top and is hard to find in this condition and complete. So I plan to take some pictures with it (this is the 9 x 12 version):

Was fun. Got too much stuff (again), nice lot of winter projects. Also, my gf got a nice little RF (her first): a Braun Super Paxette. The virus spreads...

I'll stilll need a lens mount for a Zorki-1 though, and also shutter curtains (or material) to repair a Praktica FX. It runs beautifully, but the first curtain's all torn up. I foresee lots of tinkering fun this winter!

Talking to some fellow RFFers was also very nice, sorry to everyone I didn't spot!

Wow I missed this thread. I'm also in Houten today, many great stuffs just like before, and I bought a serie VII uva for my summilux 35 and a friend got an M2 from a very kind person :D

Mr_Flibble
11-13-2011, 22:18

Ron, sorry didn't get your message (RFF sends it to my office) to go for a beer afterwards. I ran out of money around 2pm anyway ;)

Super Paxette?! dang, I missed that one ;)

Guess you could buy a nice (mint) M4 or a used M6 for the price I paid, but already have enough 35mm gear...and my little "museum" was in for something 'new'..and as said, this was already on the wishlist for quite some years....

Missed this thread but was at Houten, with my own table no less. Anyone here who took a picture of me with my Summicron DR on his M2?

Had a good time, sold most of my stuff that actually had some value left in it, found a very nice Yashica Mat 124 for a friend, bought a 52mm IR filter and a roll of Efke 35mm IR film and got a cheap MD-10 grip for my cheap F90x from 'Marktplaats'. It works! I also handed over my M2 with its misaligned RF over to Will (van Manen) and Cathy, together with the new cameraleather covering. All in all not bad!

Btw, I was wearing a black sweatshirt with old cameras on it, but you also might have noticed my car :D

You don't say, your own table!

You didn't speak to a guy wearing a black hat by any chance? :D

11-14-2011, 12:21
You guys are killing me! I've posted about our local (i.e. Boston area) camera show several times over the years and I don't even get many views, let alone posts! Meanwhile, you're meeting up with half of RFF-NL, and narrowly missing the other half. That's the way to go.

I got to check this one (or Doesberg) out for myself some day.

Penny Lane
11-14-2011, 13:34
To be honest, I found Doesburg even more fun. But I'm a sucker for historic town centres like at Doesburg. The setting there is just perfect!

Sort of a shame I apparently met several RFF-ers without knowing it, I would 've liked to put some more faces to names! We need RFF T-shirts or something :D

Derk

Mr_Flibble
11-15-2011, 01:01
I agree, Doesburg market is more attractive, what with the historical backdrop....if it ain't raining ;)

So if this one isn't held in Houten next March, where is it going to be?

Hmmm RFF T-shirts.

Great reading... Would've been an excellent chance to meet up with my fellow Dutch RFF mates. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it again. Went to Friesland instead. My grandsons (4 and 2) phoned last Saturday evening to let us know we HAD to see them, for obvious reasons a command we couldn't disobey. Anyway, I was broke anyhow, as Saturday morning I bought a nice Leica IIIb and two Summitars from a photofriend in Germany.

Doesburg is great, BUT the last few years it has been held at the same weekend as the Lowlands festival. I know I must be the only guy that wants to go to both, but I simply cannot skip Lowlands.
