Took the Fuji along on a photo shoot late yesterday afternoon. It wouldn't be my first choice as a portrait camera - certainly that's not why I bought it. But I thought it would be fun to see how it worked.
Shot it into the sun in several of these, just to see how it would handle the flare.
In a couple of these, the focus is a bit soft - I'm still working out the mechanics of focusing and then recomposing.

Great looking images, very analog look. How did you convert these to BW, in post processing I suppose? How do you like the analog/electronic rangefinder in the X100, I can hardly imagine what it even looks like...

Thanks. I do all of my B&W conversions with Silver Efex Pro. Just a great program.

I actually think I'm really going to like the viewfinder in this thing. I enjoy the electronic overlay, though I'll probably end up trimming some of the info that it displays. I haven't even tried the electronic viewfinder yet. I don't expect to like that very much.

In some situations the EVF is your friend.

Nice photos. Set the focus switch to MF, and focus using the AFL button. Best way to operate this camera. For critical focusing, I've also found that the EVF is often easier/better to use. Like you, I didn't expect to like the electronic viewfinder, but I find myself using it all the time.

I'll have to give that a shot. Thanks.
