Wedding Tonight What lens?

I have a family member getting married tonight. Its an outdoor wedding, I will be just a guest, but shooting only B&W Neopan 400. I'm having a hard time with what lens to take. I only want 2 lens, I'm thinking the 35 2.0 Summicron & a 90 Elmar 4.0. I have a 50 mm, but thinking I should leave that home. Last time I was a guest shooter I took the 35 only, did crop a few & the grain was too much on the croped photos.

The photos will just be given to the bride & Groom, they know nothing about this it will be a suprise.

I just shot a wedding outdoors and I would say, as a guest, keep it simple and bring just the 50mm lens. You do not want a 90mm lens in your pocket while drinking.

If a Pro photographer is shooting the wedding stay out of his way. Last thing you want to do is become an "Uncle Bob". Generally speaking a longer lens is better because it allows you to stay out of the way...

Agree with filmfan. Just the 50, and especially if it's the C Sonnar.

Shooting purely as a guest, I'd go for 35 or 50, but I'd have no hesitation about putting the other (50 or 35), and a 75 or 90, in a small bag in case I decided that I wanted it.

Take the 90 too. Use it a lot outside, the 35 inside.

Just shooting candid shots, never in the way of the pro. They will not even know Im there.

Take your G1 with 45/90 instead ? AF will be of big help, the faster 90, too.

+1, or 28 if you have it, you can shoot those friends the pro does not know from a different perspective, while the pro gets the money shots.

I think your original idea of the 35 and 90 sounds fine, although since it's outdoors you could simplify further and just take a 50.

Last time I did this I just took a 50/3.5 collapsible Elmar. It's no good for large groups but you'll only be doing small groups. It's no good for head shots but they don't capturemuch about the occasion.

Maybe now 2 cameras. One w/50, the other 35/90? I just kinda wanted to keep it simple in the beginning. No bag just a camera and lens.
