View Full Version : Trip around the world - looking for street photographers

So finally, an old dream of a trip around the world has materialized. We are off for 12 months and currently in Turkey. It is a great opportunity to experiment with the "one lens only" philosophy and therefore only took the M8 with 35mm Lux (and a DP2 as back-up, same fov).

Street photography is a big part of this trip therefore I keep a blog (http://www.yanidel.net) where I post a daily picture. My aim is also to meet street photographers in all the countries we visit. The idea is to go for a shoot in the streets, maybe a few drinks /lunch and eventually post an interview on my site. I have done three so far and it has been fun :

So if you are somewhere on our path (http://www.yanidel.net/map/) (I am travelling with my girlfriend) and kindly would like to show us some part of your city while shooting, please contact me through mp or email. Thanks in advance.

What a fantastic dream - and glad that it is coming true. Have had a look at the three interviews you've already conducted. Excellent stuff. I wish you all the best on your travels and with meeting people and taking pictures. Perhaps the mods might make this thread a sticky so that we can follow your endeavours. Best wishes.

Are you planning on heading to Perth, Western Australia on the Australia leg of your trip? I'll be away in November but would be more than happy to spend some time showing you around the beautiful city, introducing you to some street photography friends and also possibly offer you somewhere to stay! If you're visiting Melbourne I'd highly suggest you contact the Melbourne Silvermine group - great bunch! http://silvermine.org.au/

Amazing. Wish I could make such a journey, too. Love the simplicity of it. One M body, one lens, one girlfriend ;) Seriously, sounds incredible. Please enjoy for us all and share captures along the way!

I checked out your blog, you've got some great shots on there. I'm moving to Bangkok, Thailand at the end of this month. I'd be happy to show you around in Feb. I was previously there for 7 months so I'm quite familiar with the city, more so than even some native Bangkok residents :P

I'm in Argentina, Buenos Aires.

You are welcome to stay in my house. We have a separate room for guests.
I'll be in Argentina until March, next year, I think.

Also, some great photos in your blog! good luck with your trip.

Thank you all for words of encouragement and offers.

So far, it looks like I'll be able to meet with five of you (mainly Australia). I look forward to it.

Unluckily, so far there is no plan to visit Indonesia, Argentina (just returned from it), or Western Australia. But who know, plans might change.

Anybody from Mexico on this forum ? ;)

...what, no Canada?

...what, no Canada?
Canada makes it a bit too difficult for my Argentinian girlfriend to get a visa ... same for the US, South Africa and China.
So we decided to skip on these destinations and go only to the countries where we felt welcome without conditions ;)
