I've just finished renewing the seals on my two Nikkormats that I've owned since the mid-60's, using Jon Goodman's kits. Plus I've fitted them with SR44 batteries using the conversions supplied by Frans de Gruijter, so no more PX625 problems.
All set to go for another 35 years. Problem is, the cameras will last longer than I will at that rate!
In this pic, one is fitted with the f3.5/55 Macro lens and the other with the f2/85.

Congratulations! That's a good feeling, isn't it? I did the seals on an OM-1 recently, and gave it a new cover, in Griptac. As you say, good for another round now! :)

Leigh - congrats. I did my FE with Jon Goodman's seals a few months ago. Know how you feel.

Btw I was interested in your comment that "I've fitted them with SR44 batteries using the conversions supplied by Frans de Gruijter, so no more PX625 problems".

I have an MR4 meter which is kaput but I would like to give it a go on the M4. If I can get a pic in here you will see that it originally used the PX625. Could you give me the link to those conversions so I can follow this up? Thanks.

I realise that the MR4 may just have to go to Quality Light Metric in the US to be fixed, but I thought I might try a modern battery via a conversion if that's possible first.

They're amazing machines. Irrespective of the film vs digital imaging question, it's hard to imagine a D7000 still working in 35 years, or being serviceable to 100% condition. Interesting what we've lost and gained.

Dan,
The primary reference is here
<http://www.butkus.org/chinon/batt-adapt-us.pdf>
where you'll find a detailed discussion about the problem and various solutions.
On page 11 of the pdf document you'll find details of how to order. I have just ordered one today after Frans advised me they were back in stock.

Goodman seal kits ... wow - now THERE is a value for the money! I sealed my FG a few years ago, including the mirror box, and it has served as my 'car carry camera' ever since. And I still have enough foam left over to fix a number of other seals! I always picture the actor, sitting around between gigs, packaging up foam kits.

I know it's not, but don't burst my bubble, ok?
