Just in case some might be interested, there is a new biography of the great man by Pierre Assouline - UK Amazon link here (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/050051223X/qid=1125387886/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_10_1/202-8531469-6920655).

Can't comment as yet. Haven't had time to get started! :(

While in the UK, I read a review of the English translation of that book in a local newspaper. The review was mostly positive, IIRC.

Personally, I'd rather buy the ultimate HCB photo book. There are so many collections out there, but from what I've gathered, none is quite comprehensive. A heads-up would be appreciated.

On the HCB front, I've read that the exhibition in Edinburgh is the only UK showing - is that true? Has anyone heard any different. I'm imagining that at some point a major retrospec of his work would come to London...but maybe that is the major retrospec and it's not coming to London! In which case I might just have to arrange a weekend away...

I'd like to read it; hopefully it also covers his time in the Resistance. I've been unable to find anything (and he hasn't said much about it) of his life at that time. But I hope the book does him justice.

That's a good 'un Peter.

If I 'm honest though, I wish somebody would do a high quality reprint (in hardcovers, and with the original dust jacket) of "The Decisive Moment", and perhaps also of "The Europeans".
