View Full Version : What about a 2X teleconverter/viewfinder adapter

Okay, so this might be an idiotic idea, but with all of the complaining about this model not having interchangeable lenses, what's to prevent Fuji (or an aftermarket company) from releasing a 2x teleconverter to to give a 70mm equivalent focal length? Then, a "clip-on" viewfinder adapter (a la Contax) could be included that would adapt the field of view to 70mm. Heck, Fuji could make a firmware update that would move all of the EVF information to that field of view (assuming they are the manufacturer of such an optic). Has anyone thought they might do this?

Just posing this as a theoretical; I have no special knowledge. From what I can tell, there's nothing to prevent them from doing this... Still, 35mm and 70mm would be good enough for me.

Then, why not release wide converter? Say, to 21mm? Well, even 24mm would be OK.

My thoughts exactly, btgc. I'm just thinking out loud with all of this, but autofocus cameras can take all sorts of wide/tele adapters without any problem...
