The blonde cheerleader from Glee is also in the new movie I am Number Four, and her character is into photography. She uses a Nikon SLR, but her favorite camera is a Canonet with light leaks. She even checks out a Hassey at the local camera shop. Just nevermind the darkroom scene :P. Something to check out if you like cameras and movies, also nice to see film and cool classic cameras featured in a movie with the younger target audience.

i think that movie has one of the least imaginative titles i've seen in a while i saw the preview for it at the cinema a few weeks ago and than when the title came up at the end it made me chuckle slightly, i was thinking is that really the best title you guys can come up with.

As for the title, that's the title of the book. I thought "Cowboys and Aliens" was a weaker title actually haha.

Haha yeah as i was writing that i was thinking to myself i bet its a book, i think the title probably works quite well in book form i was just going from the preview and the information you got from it and then been given that title at the end.

cheers

That movie was the initial kick for me to buy a Nikon F. Such a good look and that great metallic release sound! Now I own a chrome 1970 and a black 1967 Nikon F with some lenses and finders and of course had to buy the movie 'Blow Up' too.

Regards,
Walter

I beg to differ. It might be something to check out if you like cameras but if you like movies then this will surely disappoint. It's really a ridiculously bad movie.

Yeah, well, that whole Nikon F thing from Blow Up was a bust. I carried one around stuffed in the map pocket of my car for years and it never got ME any hot girls, only a hot camera from East Texas summers!

I agree about the movie. But a good inspiraton for the Nikon F. And still happy about!

With kind regards,
Walter

Remember that the car in that movie helped picking up chicks too. A Rolls Royce convertible does have a certain cache!

Well, yeah, but most of my PJ buddies drove Ford Pintos back in the day, not convertible RR's. ;)

I watched probably 10 minutes of it.

Haha...its quite funny that you passed a SLR to a newbie and he can produce wonderful pics out of it..without learning about ISO..shutterspeed etc...

Not seen it but I reliably informed the overdubbed sound is an SLR on that movie. (You have no idea, as an Englishman BTW, how that hurts to write movie and not film).
